About

I’m Andrée. I write The Root Sanctuary from Louisiana. Wife. Mother of three mostly grown kids. I am not an expert. I am a person who journals her way through a life and then tells the truth about it.

I named it The Root Sanctuary because I want the root of a thing. An opinion. A feeling. A question. A pattern I kept living without looking at. The sanctuary part is simpler. I needed a place where I could learn and say it plain. This is that place, made public.

I have lived a lot of life in a short span. On my own at 14. A mother at 19. Joy and mess. Wins I didn’t trust. Losses that taught me faster than any plan. When two of my kids needed less of me physically, I finally had room to ask who I was when I wasn’t only surviving the week. Words were already how I thought. The site came out of that quiet era. Dream plus the tools I could finally use. The work is mine.

I am not religious. I don’t need this to be a temple. I do think a life can mean something, and I feel that most in the quiet, in nature, in the people I chose.

This space is for personal experience, what it taught me, and anyone done performing long enough to want the honest version. I promise not to hand you a performance. I will get things wrong and change my mind. That’s not a flaw in the project. That’s the project.

If you want a place to start, the homepage has three doors. If you want the longer origin story, it’s here too. Either way: welcome.
